Lapidary
Lapidary is a multipage booklet that discusses the history of stone cutting and the eventual manufacturing and design consideration of cut stones. The booklet reflects an aesthetic that can be considered “elegant” but still soft to work with the visual aspects of cut stones and gems. The colors chosen reflect the natural colors of stone. The watercolor graphic element was implemented as a stylistic choice to match the illustrations. The inspiration for the watercolor palette choice was drawn from images of stones in the river since that was the first form of stone shape manipulation.
